Our winemaker Abraham de Klerk worked a vintage in Pomerol, France at Chateau Clos du Clocher prior to starting at Symphony Hill Wines. Abraham’s close relationship with this renowned estate has enabled us to procure a small amount of their sensational 2018 vintage at a very special price.
Clos du Clocher was founded in 1924 and their 4.6-hectare vineyard is planted with 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Arguably, the best Merlot in the world comes from Pomerol, located on the right bank of Bordeaux. Lush and plush with silky tannins, floral nuances and a mix of meatiness and chocolate notes with age. The neighbouring chateaus of Pétrus and Le Pin retail for $8000 per bottle.
