Beautiful deep, vibrant colour with aromas of tobacco leave, bay leaf, coffee and Belgian chocolate. Shows an excellent balance of wood, fruit and acid. The palate expresses blackcurrant, black cherry and sensual vanilla and cedar oak velvety finish.
“This has received an extended maceration, at least by Australian standards, across three-weeks of pre-fermentation cold soak and the fermentation period in addition, before being pressed to barrel (30% new; 12 months, all French). This is an exceptional cabernet. Long, detailed and almost supine across entry to finish. Incredibly long. The oak, a cedar harness to the cassis, mulch and graphite scents. Akin to a riper vintage of high quality Bordeaux, with tannins tuned to a soprano detail. A privilege to taste.”
